The banner web part enables you to add an image to act as a "hero image" at the top of a page but with additional options for video and custom messages to appear.
- If you're not in edit mode already, click Edit at the top right of the page.
- Hover your mouse above or below an existing web part or under the title region and click the plus sign and then select the Banner web part.
- Click on the edit pen in the top left corner of the web part to configure it.
- The details panel will open on the right, giving you various options to configure.
Under the Functionality tab, you will see the following:
- Background Type: Select what type of background you would like to use:
- Image: To link an image via a URL
- Video: To link a video via a URL
- Solid Colour: To set your banner to be a solid colour
If selecting Image or Video, you will get additional Position options as shown above.
Under Appearance you will see the below:
- Banner Content: The banner content is so you can add either a Title or a message. You can use tokens in this field to dynamically set the content of the banner. For example, you can use the following tokens: , , , to make it more personal to people who sign in.
- Content Alignment
- Text Colour
- Show Overlay?: this adds a gentle gradient over the background image, based on the Content Alignment
- Is Banner a Link?: if set to On, lets you add a link to the banner
- Banner Height: sets the size of the banner
- Rounded Corners
- Background Type: Select what type of background you would like to use:
- Now that the web part has been configured, you can save the page.
- When you are ready for your audience to see the page, click Publish.
