Searching Within an Individual Document Library

When viewing a specific document library, you also have the ability to search directly within the library without retrieving results from anywhere else in the Intranet.

  1. To navigate to your Document Library, go to the site contents of the site in question.

  2. Click on the library you want to open.

  3. You will notice that the search bar at the top of the page has now updated and says "Search this library".

  4. You can now use this search to find documents within the library or even to search the contents of a specific document.

  5. At this stage, its displaying documents which match that word in the title. By clicking "Show more results", it will return a list of documents which include the word in the title or the word is in the contents of the document.

  6. If I was to click into the PowerPoint and then search within the application, I can find the word "Analysis".
